Connected henhouse door

My parents have some hens in the backyard. The yard being pretty large, I had the idea to make an automatic henhouse door.

This henhouse door can work under automatic mode as well as manual mode. The automatic mode opens the door the morning when the sunlight is strong enough and closes it at the sunset.

A led display can show, from inside the house, the state of the door and the selected mode. The mode can be selected from inside the house, as well as it's possible to ask for the door to open or close.

The mechanical part of the door is also home made thanks to an homemade CNC (it's an other project, not from me). As you can see, we didn't miss of humor during the door making.

Here you can see the door and the wall before the assembly, with the electronic part which will be fixed inside the henhouse

This is one of the electronic boxes of the henhouse. We can see the antenna of the 3.4GHz radio transmission, a button to reset the Arduino, an other to move the door and the light sensor.

Inside view: light module, radio module and homemade PCB

It is a view from the inside, where we can see the electronic of the henhouse. The main component is an ATmega328p that we can mainly find on the arduino UNO, which allowed me to develop this project.

Here is the control tower (parent house :-) ).

Only the box, the screen and the radio module have been bought.
